“Honoring the Past
Securing the Future”
In view of the fact that the school is closing, we, The Foundation for Scotland School for Veterans” Children, by statute must dissolve in coordination with the school’s closing. To that end the foundation has employed the law firm of Rhoads & Sinon LLP of Harrisburg, Pennsylvania to guide us through the process. This process may take from six months up to one year, depending on the actions of the court.

To explain the process in a somewhat oversimplified matter, the foundation
will have to arrange for payment of all short term and long term financial
obligations, i.e. previously awarded scholarships and unemployment
compensation for employees. The Board of Directors, with the approval
of the court will then decide upon the distribution of the remaining
funds to their selected and court approved 501 ( c ) ( 3 )
organizations. Legal notifications to the necessary governmental
agencies will be provided.

We, the members of the Board of Directors of The Foundation for
Scotland School for Veterans’ Children wish to thank you for the generous
gifts and donations you have provided over the years to make the lives of veterans’ children
attending the school more wholesome and enjoyable. Those children and staff members working with the children will always cherish your generosity.

Best wishes,
C. Frank Frame, Interim Executive Director
Howard F. Bachman, President
It is with a sad heart and a deep sense of loss that we must announce that the Scotland School for Veterans’ Children, a 114 year old veterans’ benefit, is closing. As you may know Governor Edward G. Rendell did not fund the school in this year’s budget and the legislature upheld that position in their budget approval.
